What that all means Keith, is that we have a great team of staff who are
great at being match staff. They do what is needed to keep the shooters
taping and resetting in a timely manor, and all of the things needed to
make the day run well.
We were short Peter and Darren. Two key staffers. Not to say that we can
do a match again without them (hint hint) but everyone else, including many
non HHH guys, picked up the slack where needed to get everything done.

That's extreme - even a good MD can only do so much.
A well-run match, which is what is required for an MD to also compete
effectively, requires reliable ROs and - MOST importantly - shooters who do
Their Fair Share of the work (and a bit more).
Shooters need to keep the squad moving. That means taping; not talking. It
means paying attention to the shooting order, picking up brass, and staying
to help with tear-down.
The good news is, shooters at HSA matches, with very few exceptions, DO
all that.

Successful match. Finally the weather was right in Hopkinton!
Thanks to everyone who helped out, special thank you to Peter for coming
by this morning to be sure Practiscore sign up process went smoothly before
he headed to the great north for family festivities. One more special
thank you to Mike who worked the whole match including teardown but did not
shoot the match himself.
A phrase I hear occasionally at other clubs is "you can work them or you
can win them, but you can't do both"
I think if a match director did his job right, he shouldn't be in a
position to not perform well at the match. We have a great team here and
things are running very smooth, I like it. I didn't get a chance to talk
to everyone post match, but I hope everyone had a good day and feels the
same as I do.
