Sorry for the late reply again, Whenever the next meeting is if these things are discussed and a decision made let me know I’m quite happy to do either a Wordpress site or regular HTML site. I am also happy to host if you guys want it.

I was also wondering if you guys wanted any promotional material, posters, t-shirt designs, or videos made. If so I would again be happy to help.

Hi Benjamin,

A lot of things hangs on what the committee wants to do & will probably
take another meeting to go forward. Whatever we do I suspect it makes
more sense to go incrementally rather than change everything in one hit.

The decision on whether to use something like Wordpress will ultimately
drive the hosting side of things. Our current hosting platform doesn't
support any active content (ie. php) so would definitely need to be
hosted elsewhere - for example with you. If we go with the current
arrangement where the "blog" type feed is crowbarred in from my place
then it can stay where it is. It would probably make sense to give you
the server details such that you can upload the content as and when
we're ready. A bit of liasing would be required in order to determine
how we hook the "blog" feed in but that's doable.

With regard to the on-air side of things, whichever way we go I think we
can leave this alone (for now) in terms of where it's hosted - again a
bit of liasing will be required as to how it gets hooked in, picking up
the new stylesheets etc. That would need to happen regardless of where
the site ends up being hosted.

The advantage with you hosting it is that ultimately it lends itself to
having everything in one place which is a far neater solution but may be
more of a long term plan rather than something to worry about now.

Rgs,

Jon.

Hi Jon sorry for the long delay in replying to your last email about
the Hastings Rock site. I was thinking that maybe I could just send you
the files for the site I create for you and then you could just copy
and past the news feed and live listen parts of it across. This would
mean we wouldn’t have to transfer any of the hosting or email and
would help me out because I don’t know how to do the live on air part
of the site. If the committee decides that it wants a Wordpress site I
don’t know if that would be supported on your server as I remember
you saying it doesn’t support php (correct me if I’m wrong) so in
that case the domain would have to be transferred to me. My hosting
provider does also have an email platform which costs £60 per year per
user so it’s worth bringing that up if the committee decides to go
with a Wordpress site hosted through me.

Sorry again for the late reply still really appreciate the opportunity
to work with Hastings Rock.
