Ok a vote is needed then as we don’t have much time left to book the sites
Yes to seafront advertising or
No to seafront advertising.
Please can the whole committee reply to this one.
Thankyou.
If yes we can then decide how long and how many sites.
Cheers all.

I have to agree with Tony and Ralph, my reasons being is that although the
internet is getting more popular we clearly have many more listeners when we
are on FM, we can tell that just by feedback to an internet broadcast and I
don't think that putting posters up for 2 weeks at that cost is worth it
particularly as there won't be a huge amount of money coming in.
On another note, hope to have the programme schedule posted on here this
weekend.

Why is the FM so special ? . a lot more people listen on line these days .
Its the FM that’s so expensive . we have saved that money this time so lets
spend a bit on advertising ourselves .
Thats my opinion .
Ps. We have already purchased two more large screen monitors , but haven’t
been able to use them yet .

Thankyou Rick.
I have checked out Soloprint.com They are the same price as Angel.
Print ............................£72 incl VAT
HBC poster sites for 2 weeks
.................................,.£154 incl VAT
TOTAL .......................£226 incl VAT
In my opinion this is still a complete waste of funds for an internet only
broadcast. 2 weeks is no point at all. As soon as they’ve gone up , they will
be taking them down. We could reduce the number of sites but I fear we have no
control over where the sites are. Advertising should be in your face,
everywhere for a long time, or it doesn’t work. Especially for an internet
broadcast. WWW. = World Wide Web. Not HSO. = Hastings Seafront Only.
I’d much rather see that sort of money go on studio equipment for the future,
such as a mic boom stand that works or another large screen monitor etc.
We can flood the social media with stuff to tell everyone we’re back leading up
to the broadcast ( and it’s free).
Anyway as I say it’s my opinion........
Over to the collective

Guys
FYI:
It wasn't Fastprint who did the posters - they're too expensive.
Solopress.com printed the large format seafront ones and Tony D handled the
actual ordering side.

Think it was Fast Print that did them last time . we don’t need 6 weeks on the
sea front , only 2 weeks , the week before and the 1st week .

Agreed. I did raise the problem about flyers before. I can’t see people taking
them and if we leave them at outside venues as Nick suggested they would merely
become rubbish.

I agree that's that is far too much money to be spending on an Internet only
broadcast.
I'm sure the quote I had for seafront poster sites last year was less, but then
I probably budgeted for less than 6 weeks. Don't think we'd need that many,
but....
I don't think flyers are worth bothering with either, for the same reasons
Sarah mentioned.

Does seem rather excessive for an Internet Broadcast.
I am not sure about the effectiveness of flyers this time around either, since
the opportunities for distribution are going to be very limited. Pubs will not
be open properly and approaching strangers to thrust leaflets into their hand
may not be seen as appropriate yet. Not something I care to do.
It may just be down to social media and other forms of free publicity.

** Hastings Rock Radio **
Hi again.
Sorry. The site booking is also plus VAT.
SO 10 sites £84 per week for 6 weeks equals £504. Plus the printing costs.
That’s also without any fliers.

Hi all. Any idea who printed the seafront posters last time?
I’ve had a quote from Angel Print and design for. £59 + VAT. for 10 posters
Double Crown outdoor.
The sites are available for last 2 weeks April and all of May.
£7 per week for each site.
10 sites would equal £70 per week for 6 weeks
So £420 + £72 print = £492.
To much for an internet broadcasting ast in my opinion but over to you.
Ralph.
