It sounds like you are after something akin to the overnight "RoboJock"
requests style thing but limited to selecting tracks from the existing
"Main Playlist [or 'Old Rock list']" AND a forthcoming "New Rock" list.
From a selection point of view, I can probably lash together the
existing request engine to do something like that.
Nick is I seem to recall the central point for music coordination so all
new tracks would need to go his way, I'm assuming the shared DropBox
would facilitate that. He would then to add them into the "New Rock"
list within Playout in order for them to appear in the lists.

That looks good Jon, and yes I realise a bit rough and ready. All we
need is a facility to request them. I know we can probably find them on
you tube, but its not quite so much fun.
On a similar note, I will be compiling selected new additions (The ones
that have been released since our last broadcast). Is there a way we
can have a similar 'New Rock' list that can be requested. So we have
'New Rock' and 'Old Rock' playlists (if you know what I mean).Naturally
I would have to upload the tracks somehow since I am adding to them
each week.
That way anyone can request them and they would just go into the
'Request' Queue and get played along with the 'Old Rock' requests.
Hope that all makes sense.
Sarah

Very good idea Sarah . yes easy to publish complete playlist in artistbit rough and ready but here you are:
alphabetical order would be good , if i can remember how. ? then query
any songs .

I did listen in today although would just make a few suggestions.....
If you are all like me (and I guess you are) and lead busy lives, it is
quite difficult to listen in to the stream for any extended period of time
and make suggestions if a song should be in there or not.
I made a note of some songs I heard that I would probably question, but I
didn’t need to listen to them to suggest they may need to go.....
Tears For Fears - Sowing The Seeds Of Love (!)
Heinz - Just Like Eddie
Galahad - Secret Kingdoms... (Great track but very prog)
Suede - Metal Mickey
Blur - Girls And Boys
McCartney; Paul & Wings - Helen Wheels
I picked these up from the song history but didn’t need to listen to
them to suggest they shouldn’t be in there.
Would it be easier if you were able to have a massive list of the playlist
songs for us to tick off if we think they shouldn’t be there?
Then if we
were unsure to be able to request them to be played so we can listen?
I am currently compiling the New Rock additions and whilst I will filter
out the foul-mouthed and iffy unknowns, I am planning to do this for my
stream so I will provide a list and you can request a few to listen to if
you are unsure or if you just want to listen to them.
I just think that it will make the whole process a bit easier and quicker.
We can then look at the list at our leisure when we do get time.
Thoughts on a postcard!

Yes but I think I'll need to pop round and see you, not least
because
I've changed the security on my dynamic DNS account which means
the
server name we set up won't work any more so no one will be able
to
listen. Also, if you are going to be doing this on a regular
basis, I'd
like to roll out the new build of Playout and use that, it'll be
good
testing for it.
Propose a date/time and I'm sure I can fit something in.
