Ok, so in the background it’s all setup now, and in fact it’s configured to “replicate” whatever is on Dropbox to the new Google drive….
I need a volunteer to test out the shared library, as this can now be done by specific people who can have access, or “anyone with the link” ….

Btw, you should be able to access the new google drive here:

If you already use google or google drive, it will probably log you straight in to your own google account, so create another profile using the following :
User: hastingsrock87.7@xxxxxxxxxPasswd: hastrock
And you should see all the usual folders and files as you did with Dropbox…
I will lock out the Dropbox account this evening… we don’t want two services running!
Google also do a very handy app for iPhone and android, making access to stuff very quick!

I may be answering my own question. Short amount of research shows that Google Drive seems to offer the largest free option with 15 GB of storage. It also gives the same level of sharing and access options that dropbox currently gives us and it’s all free.
Does anybody have any violent objections to trying this out? If so, please speak up otherwise I’ll create a Test account using the same details as our dropbox and ask people to participate in a short trial.
In fact, if you want to try it out, here is a sample shared link, to a folder that will mimic what’s in our shared dropbox folder….

So while doing the Admin on our dropbox service, its clear will soon run out of space on the standard 2Gb storage facility we have at the moment, which is free... (We have about 250Mb left....)
There are 3 things we could do here:
1) We cull out previous years notes, minutes, pictures etc etc, this will free up 1.3Gb which should be fine, even with all the music, ads and jingles we upload for Shared access to DJ's. But this will give us the problem of what and where do we store this old material? (Do we even want to maintain it?)

3) Find another Cloud storage service that gives the same flexibility of Dropbox, but cheaper....
