Here are a couple of pictures; supposedly of Mon, Katherine and Fred,
along with grandmother.
I'm not seeing any resemblance.

Here's a pic of your mom and grandma.
L to R: Katherine Hoffman (your grandma), Tabea Brausch, Mary Brausch,
Elizibeth Hoffman, Fred Hoffman.
It's a little odd that Fred (14 at the time of this pic) is shorter than your
mom (13 at this time). Of course, girls get their height earlier than boys. And
at that age of 13, 14, girls are often larger.
