Holmes County Democratic Party
Meeting location: Holmes County Public Library meeting room, 3102 Glen
Drive, Millersburg
*June 6, 2022, 6pm—Meeting Minutes *
Ramona S. called the meeting to order.
*Pledge of Allegiance*—led by Ramona S.
*Phone Call with Matthew Diemer*—We called Matthew and spoke with him via
speakerphone. He won the primary for the 7th district, and will come to the
Holmes County Fair in August. He hopes to recruit one volunteer per town in
his district (Holmesville, Lakeville, Nashville, part of Loudonville,
Martinsville, & Big Prairie) to Get Out The Vote. He received 100 votes
from Holmes County in the primary, and is aiming for 200 votes in the

*Minutes of April 18th meeting*—read by Margaret Y.
Ramona S. suggested a small change in wording. Greg S. moved to approve
minutes as amended, Joyce B. seconded, motion passed.
*Treasurer’s Report:* Reports for this meeting and the May 9 meeting were
presented by Jim Nusbaum.
For the Checking account: Donations received at meetings: 4/18—$93.
5/9—$45. Expenditures: Library donation $50, OCCA dues for 2021 & 2022
$100. New Balance on 6/6—$4133.50
For the Savings account: No change, Balance is $117.08
Margaret Y. moved to accept the treasurer’s reports. Joyce B. seconded,
motion passed.
*Old Business: *
*Highway Clean-Up *on May 21 went well, with 11 volunteers attending. The
highway department needs to know soon if we are going to renew our pledge
to clean that section for another 2 years.
*Solar Installation*—No updates from Trail Battery on cost, or from the
Park District. Ramona will check with them again.
*Fair Committee*—Wayne B., Greg S., and Ramona S. agreed to be on the Fair
Committee and will contact a few others to join.
*New Business:*
The Tuscarawas County Democratic Party would like to do a joint Hog Roast
with us and a couple of other smaller county Democratic Party groups, at
the Tuscarawas Fairgrounds, in October. Statewide Democratic candidates
such as Nan Whaley and Tim Ryan would be invited.
*Adjournment*—Joyce B. moved to adjourn the meeting; Jim N. seconded.
Motion passed, meeting adjourned.
