hi,
the cluster is usable again and functioning totally normal. i
successfully added the new cluster node, giving is 16 more slots.

however, the new node only has 128GB of RAM. this might seem a lot at
the beginning, but it is not. 128GB of RAM / 16 slots = 8GB per slot!!

so, please keep an eye on how much RAM you request.

if you submitted a lot of jobs and by looking at the logfiles realize,
that you requested too much, it is very easy to change it:

qalter "name" -l h_vmem=4G

sets the memory request to 4GB for all jobs with the name "name". this
only applies to jobs not currently running.

qalter "*" -l h_vmem=4G

does the same for all your scheduled jobs.

so, have fun and if you run into problems, let me know!
cheers,
thomas
