The method in the text that you attached is not necessary.  Sword installs 
directly from the repository.

I am trying to install and run the bible reading app, "Sword," some of which I 
downloaded from the repository; the remainder from the project's website.  I 
printed out the Installation Notes (see attached,) but still no joy.

After much heavy lifting, I got it to work fine under Debian Etch, but of 
course failed to write down the procedure I followed, because it was so simple 
I was sure that I would easily remember it...kinda like when I put something 
somewhere because then I'll be sure to remember.

Help!!!!
