Originally I thought that I'd wait for the finishing of UPDATE and only then merge the userspace code to the main. However, it seems like this is causing a little bit of confusion so I decided to do it earlier (and we're not really supporting the kernel-only version anymore). So, please get the latest version of the hipl--main--2.6 as instructed in the webpages. It is the latest version of the userspace code. It has been tested and it seems to work decently. We even tested it today between a PPC and x86 machine with Juha-Matti, and it was successful. However, the UPDATE support does not work yet (on patch-283). Also, there may be some other bugs we have not found yet, so early adopters are welcome. I recommend the following installation procedure for the kernel: * Get a fresh version of the vanilla 2.6.13.1 kernel * Patch with beet/beet-patch-2.6.13.1 and beet/interfamily-2.6.13.1 * Patch with kernel/policy-sleep-2.6.13.1.patch (see [1]) * Optionally patch it with the distro specific patches, if needed After that, you should be ready to run HIP in the userspace. Have fun! [1] http://hipl.hiit.fi/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=85 P.S. Current working items are: UPDATE, IPv4+NAT and opportunistic HIP support. We'll inform about these when they are working. -- Miika Komu miika@xxxxxx http://www.iki.fi/miika/
