Fixed the recovery code, so the -k switch (used by the init script)
works again. Which distributions and releases should we try to support?
Should I test with dnsmasq in any other capacity than spawned by
network-manager?

Bug description:
  DNS proxy does not work in Ubuntu precise because dnsmasq has
  mandatory and has been integrated in rather interesting way. Note:
  fixing this should not affect, e.g., Debian or Fedora.
