Join the Early Childhood Hearing Outreach (ECHO) Initiative for a webinar
on improving the quality of pure tone audiometric hearing screening
practices for children 3–5 years of age. During pure tone screening,
earphones are worn so that a child can let us know if she or he perceives
sound at selected frequencies or pitches. Discover training elements in
this webinar to enhance your work with Head Start children.

Topics for this webinar include:

   - Need for training around establishing evidence-based hearing screening
   practices
   - Importance of a multi-method approach to meeting Head Start Program
   Performance Standards around hearing screening
   - How to identify a local audiologist to assist with training and
   technical assistance
   - Essential training elements:
      - When to use Pure Tone Audiometric screening or Otoacoustic
Emissions (OAE) screening with 3–5 year olds
      - Equipment selection
      - How equipment works
      - Choosing appropriate screening environments
      - Preparing children for screening
      - Key elements of the screening process
      - Documenting screening outcomes
      - Recommended screening and follow-up protocol
