This usually happens when a water main or large valve is turned off and
then back on in a nearby area. Brownish/rusty water used to happen in
our neighborhood a few times a year, but hasn't really been an issue for
several years.
There is no corrective action to take, since the issue clears on its
own. If you drink tap water or do laundry, then you will want to wait
until it is clear.
