I see you keep talking about Jackson Street and its bridge. I should have
given more detail when I said I saw 2 rats -- they were on the inside part
of the neighborhood -- they ran across my driveway and into the bushes in
between units. Apologies for not being clear the first time around. I don't
see how junk under Jackson Street bridge would cause them to roam the
insides of our neighborhood but you could be right -- I don't know enough
about rats. Nonetheless, to me this seems like an issue for our
neighborhood HOA and not the police or GDOT.

What takes place off of our property is outside the scope of our HOA.
With that being said, everyone who is on our Board cares about making
sure that our neighborhood is a nice, livable place. We are using the
voice of our HOA to encourage everyone in the neighborhood to contact
the police and GDOT about the Jackson St. issue.
Past issues - Over two years ago, a rat burrow was discovered
off-property near our trash compactor. A neighbor, who also happened to
also be a Board member, contacted the city to get that issue addressed.
The same is true for moving a street sign which suggested making a left
turn onto Hilliard St. to get on I-75/85 north. About a year ago, when
someone dumped hundreds of tires across Hilliard St., neighbors called
the city for immediate action. Many years ago, when a high rise storage
unit was proposed for construction across Hilliard St., several
neighbors attended the NPU meeting to speak out against it.
The Jackson St. Bridge issue is another example of where neighbors will
need to take action in order to improve the condition of our
neighborhood and surrounding area. If the police and GDOT receive
enough complaints, then it will raise the priority of the issue.

2. Freedom Parkway is the beginning of state highway 10. The Georgia
Department of Transportation (GDOT) manages this route. You can

debris from underneath the Jackson St. bridge.
