Neighbors--
Thank you for all your input and participation at the bi-monthly meeting on
Monday. We are looking forward to working with you all and hope that you
continue to stay engaged and committed. As we mentioned, there has been some
major changes to the board in the last couple of months and because of that we
are trying to reorganize fairly quickly and get the ball rolling on your
requests.
Please know that we are receiving your emailed concerns. There are only three
of us at the moment and we check the list serve periodically. Because the list
serve is a sounding board, however, we would ask that you post your general
comments/requests here but send your specific requests to the board only email
at highland-board@xxxxxxxxxxxx. All emails sent to the board email will
receive a response within 48 hours unless it is an emergency. The board will
do its best to add list serve concerns to its agenda, however due to the volume
of emails on the list serve, the board will primarily use the list serve to
post updates about meetings or big topic issues only.
We will also hold a special meeting, tentatively scheduled for Monday, August
7th. Additional information about logistics will be sent when the date and
time are confirmed.
While all concerns are important and valid, the board's first priority right
now is rounding out the board with five members. Nominations for the two board
positions are currently being accepted. We will accept nominations via email at
highland-board@xxxxxxxxxxxx. Please email nominations by Monday, July 31st.
All nominations will receive a response within 3-5 days from the date of the
special meeting.
If you were in attendance Monday, you also heard about the plans to form
committees to the board. We will have a sign-up sheet for the below potential
committees at the special meeting. Descriptions are being drafted and will be
emailed at a later date.
Potential Committees:
1. Communications
2. Landscaping
3. Finance
On another note, the latch to the compactor is scheduled to be fixed tomorrow.
We will monitor it. In the event it is not fixed tomorrow we will follow up
until it is.
We cannot reiterate how important it is to us to remain transparent with the
neighborhood and communicate effectively. We are doing the best we can to meet
these goals and appreciate your support and patience.
Thanks!
