This is great info, thanks Sedona! I have moisture collection from broken seals
and one that is leaking, so I think replacing will be my best option. However,
I will keep Indows in mind for the future if noise ever becomes an issue.
Thanks again!
Amy

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [highland-discuss] Re: Window Replacement
Hi Amy and All,
I live in the 600 building with loud road noise from Freedom Parkway and had
also looked at replacing windows at the beginning of quarantine. I had spent a
lot of time looking at window replacement before I found “Indows”.
I ended up actually purchasing “Indows”, for about half the price of replacing
the windows. Indows are acrylic panels with compression tubing to fit snuggly
in your window sill. I’ve had the Indows for over a month now and would say
it’s about 60% noise reduction, a great difference.
Here are some other companies I looked at for vinyl frame windows:
MWT, Pella, Champion, and Renewal by Andersen.
Our current windows are metal frame, so they do a poor job of blocking noise
and insulating. Renewal by Andersen only offers a single type of product,
“fibrex” frame, high quality and extremely expensive, too expensive for what I
wanted. Champion and Pella were comparable products and prices, Pella slightly
cheaper. MWT is a small business, Marc owns this company with about 15
employees. He was the least showy/salesman-y of all the companies I received
quotes from. He suggested a type of window with laminated glass panes to reduce
noise even further and priced similarly to Pella and Champion.
Not sure if your motivator for replacing windows is noise related or if you
actually have a broken window, but hope this was helpful!

Hi!
We used Pella and the sales guy we talked to was Dennis Young, I'm putting his
info below. We went with the encompass vinyl windows (without transom) and they
turned out pretty good.

Hey All!
Does anyone have contractor info for window replacements? CMA folks mentioned
there is a vendor who has been used a lot in the community but they didn’t have
contact info.
Thanks!
