I was stationed at Al Dhafra, UAE, back in 1998 and I remember one KC-10
pilot bragging that he beat an F-14 Tomcat in a climb to 30,000 ft. He
told a whole story about it, including the surprised reaction of the
Navy pilots. I didn't believe him at the time, but after seeing this I
guess it's possible he wasn't exaggerating, assuming the KC-10 was empty
and the Tomcat was topped off.
