Eileen Collins Aviation Camps at the NSM

HHSC Members -
The Soaring Museum will be holding the acclaimed Eileen Collins
Aviation Camps for youth again this summer. A 5-day session for young women
runs from July 21 through July 25. A 5-day session for young men runs
from July 28 through August 1. Only 25 seats are available for each
session. Total price is $300; some scholarships are available.
The week-long camps are a saturation experience in aviation with tours
of area aviation museums and aircraft factories and facilities. Hands on
activities include kites and wooden wing rib construction. Power plane
and/or tethered balloon rides may be included, plus (of course) a glider ride.
Ornithology, paper airplane physics, model rockets, radio-controlled
model demos - it's all there!
Contact the NSM (or look at their web site) if you know young folks who may
be interested, or if you would like to make a donation to the Camp's
scholarship fund.
