Informations for data above
---------------------------
These two lists show all beacons spots reported by the Reverse Beacon Network
(RBN) for the last complete UT day. RBN collects all spots worldwide.
The first of both lists shows beacons operated by individuals, the second
NCDXF/IARU beacons.
Spotter info (Origin) provides the id of the spotter and the quantity of
reports (behind the colon) for the beacon id given at start of line during the
last day. The quantity may vary widely even for a spotter with groundwave
reception of a beacon as the CW skimmer (software to decode CW signals) repeats
a call only about 5-6 times per hour at best.
SDRs are prone to show incorrect frequencies when signals exceed the SDR's filtering capability or
insufficient software designs enable reports on "wrong" frequencies, especially when a
frequency is shown "far away" (f.i. 100 kHz higher).
A small frequency offset (1 kHz or less) is often observed by comparing several reports.
This may be caused by the beacon tx being "modulated" with audio resulting in 2
or three simultaneous signals (carrier plus and minus the audio frequency).
These "spurious" frequencies (spurse) remain in the list.
Busted callsigns are only removed if clearly identified.
