Hi, Keith here in Amherst, NYI took the HTX-100 with me this AM and sfter my appointment I parked on the shores of Lake Erie in Hamburg, NY
Here's what I logged between 1400Z and 1500Z on 27 April: 28.1750 VE3TEN - E-Skip Backscatter 28.1930 VE4ARM 28.2100 VE4TEN 28.2255 W2DLL - Ground Wave 28.2258 WB0LYV - I thought this one was moving to 28.223? 28.2330 N2UHC 28.2348 KI4AED 28.2500 N4AR - Not sure on the call, REALLY Weak 28.2540 KJ4QOB 28.2622 WF4HAM 28.2654 KR4HO 28.2690 W3HH - Still lower than I remember, used to be 269.5? 28.2828 W0ERE 28.2885 WJ5O - Easy Copy without the Birdies! 28.2998 KF4MSWB0LYV was strong enough to take out W2DLL and I was less than 5 miles from Dana's QTH. If the WB0LYV beacon is QSY'ing, I hope it's soon. The HTX-100 has a minimum step of 100 hz, when I first turn it on the time base drift moves it about 200 hz so take my frequencies with a grain of salt, or maybe hot wings and blue cheese! I would love to leave the TS-680S in the truck, but I can't afford to have it stolen. The Rat Shack rig only has $40 into it, not so worried, y'know...
I will be out monitoring this afternoon after 2000Z, it will be interesting to see which way the E-clouds drifted.
