Hi, Keith here in Amherst, NYI was waiting for the mechanic to call and tell me the truck was ready, instead he called about 2200Z to say it will be ready tomorrow...Bummer!
Anyway, here's the list of what I heard ont he band this afternoon while waiting...
Heard from 1630Z to 2200Z on 20 December: 28.1658 XE2O 28.1730 VA5LF 28.1820 VY0SNO 28.1830 XE1RCS 28.1890 VE7KC 28.1932 VE4ARM 28.1970 VE7MTY 28.2000 ZS6DN 28.2000 W6WX 28.2099 VE4TEN 28.2150 GB3RAL 28.2183 AC0KC 28.2242 K5GJR 28.2250 K6FRC/B4 28.2255 W2DLL 28.2321 N1FSX 28.2345 KA0SWT 28.2365 W0KIZ 28.2439 WA6APQ 28.2495 K7EK 28.2496 K8NDB (@ 2115Z) 28.2500 K8NDB (@ 1700Z) 28.2500 K6FRC/B2 28.2586 WB5QYT 28.2609 W5TXR 28.2650 N7SCQ 28.2654 KR4HO 28.2732 WF4HAM 28.2800 K5AB 28.2826 KD0GZJ 28.2870 WI6J 28.2880 WA7LNW 28.2918 N5MAV (Heard @ 2100Z, RST of 587, maybe 585...LOUD 120hz Hum!) 28.2942 K7RQN 28.2992 KF4MS 28.3000 K6FRC/BNOTES: From an earlier conversation, K8NDB is in a shed that has no temperature control, the higher the temp, the lower the frequency. It must have warmed up during the day!
N5MAV had only 1 carrier, but in the AM mode it sounded like a keyed AC line. Spectran showed strong 120hz bars and weak 240 hz bars. Lot & lots of hum, the TX forgot the word?
A mix of F2 and E-Skip, the 4's just sort of popped in & out from 1900Z on. Surprised to NOT hear South America and really surprised to have ZS6DN in there until 2000Z.
You really never know what will pop up, so keep listening! 73, Keith, WB2VUO Amherst, NY: Grid FN02ox ____________________ The HFbeacons mailing list information: //www.freelists.org/webpage/hfbeacons
