First off, WSPR is the mode developed by Joe Toylor, K1JT for Weak Signal
Propagation Reporting, hence the acronym...
I am running a 10 meter WSPR beacon today. It transmits in a 50% cycle, 2
minutes TX, 2 minutes RX. The TX frequency is 28.1261 MHz, this is a carrier
of 28.1246 MHz with a 1500 hz tone. I do have the CW ID on, at the end of each
TX cycle it will send a CW ID, too. I am running at 30 dBm (1 watt) to a trap
vertical.
Software for WSPR is open-source and available for many computer platforms
inclding Windows, Mac and Linux. Look at Sourceforge.org for WSJT-x Version
1/6 or higher or WSPR2. Easy to install and set up, WSPR2 runs just fine on a
spare Windows XP laptop I dusted off, and WSJT-x runs solid in Windows 7 Home
Pro.
Send a report to the beacon reflector and/or the WSPR Spots reflector. Google
