I get similar results on 1.22. Linux, compiled with GCC 4.1.2. 1.21
seems to be working fine.

    Rate  Name (* machine default)

  1225612 SHA1 library (hashcash)
    Solution:   1:22:040404:foo@xxxxxxx::0123456789abcdef:000000Tu1n
    Iterations: 7831665
    Time taken: 6.390

  1406029 ANSI Compact 1-pipe
    Solution:   1:22:040404:foo@xxxxxxx::0123456789abcdef:0000033LsQ
    Iterations: 51207578
    Time taken: 36.420

          ANSI Standard 1-pipe
...
And I didn't wait for ANSI Stardard 1-pipe to finish -- it was taking a
loooong time.

(1.22 also seems to be a bit slower than 1.21, but that might be because
of the compiler.)
