The twisted things you see are probably the icons - currently, the driver does not work correctly with digital output, like your laptop panel. I've no hardware to test, so I'm not able to change that anytime soon.
Andrea, maybe you should invite Axel to the Pluto Talk in Italy, so Axel can test on your hardware directly... :)
