1. Sphinx is a fantasticly wonderful documentation tool, and produces HTML,
PDF and EPUB output when asked. Fairly easy to learn.
2. Yes, the .pyc files can be left out and will be recreated by the Pytjon
interpreter as needed.
3. I find it mildly amusing to think of the words "haiku" and "restructured
text" in the same sentence, considering the constraints on the poetic form.
