Do you have enable "apm" and "acpi" in
/boot/home/config/settings/kernel/drivers/kernel settings file?
Enabling apm causes a kernel crash at the Haiku logo icon and jumps to the gdb. With acpi enabled I get the following errors in syslog when I run the Power Desktop Applet:

KERN: ACPI Exception (evregion-0528): UNKNOWN_STATUS_CODE, Returned by Handler for [EmbeddedControl] [20080701] KERN: ACPI Exception (exutils-0426): AE_NOT_ACQUIRED, Could not release Global Lock [20080701] KERN: ACPI Error (psparse-0627): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.ISA_.EC__.BAT0._BIF] (Node 0x81268eec)ACPI Error (utglobal-0216): Unknown exception code: 0xFFFFFFFF [20080701]
2009-09-21 16:38:41 KERN: , UNKNOWN_STATUS_CODE

Also a similar error for the second battery bay... \_SB_.PCI0.ISA_.EC__.BAT1._BIF
Most of your issues look like bugs. Haiku OS Trac is available at the
address http://dev.haiku-os.org/. Feel free to register them in the Trac.

I would like to know if apm, acpi, usbmsd are implemented? I don't want to open a bunch of Trac issues only to have the developers state,"We know not implemented yet."
