Hey,
cool that an initiative has been started on this topic. I think some
general overhaul on the sounds might be a really good thing (especially
for non-developers a chance to contribute).

Don't have a chance to listen to them (at work currently), but please
consider to have Ogg Vorbis for system sounds as they don't put us on
any mp3 related issues.
