In Drupal 4.x, which the Haiku website uses, custom content nodes such
as those used for the conferences have some rough edges in the workflow
that I could never fully understand and/or address.

To avoid potential problems, I opted to use a form that submits the data
to an email, and was then entering the data into the nodes manually;
very inefficient, but not that bad for a few events a year.

This problem should not exist in Drupal 5 or 6, If/when the website is
upgraded, the workflow for conference submission could then be changed
so that the nodes are published immediately after submission or go into
a queue for revision prior to publication.

Cheers,

Jorge
