The problem was fixed by running checkfs. Thanks.
If checkfs gives a lot of output, is that bad? Is there

It usually is :-)
data corruption going on or has it been able to fix everything? It
mentioned the following for a number of files:
- has blocks already set
- some blocks weren't allocated
- could not be opened.
1) is fatal, as that means that at least two files share the same
block.
This kind of errors cannot be fixed without data corruption.
2) those may be fatal, as Adrien explained
3) This is also fatal, as it means that some inode data has been
corrupted, so a file is no longer accessible. Likely caused by 1).
Hello Axel,
on this system, I don't mind it as much. As soon as I know where I left
my USB stick, I will reinstall Haiku on it. :)
I do have another system that I would like to keep in better order. Is
it possible to automatically run checkfs every day and e-mail the
results? I used to have some kind of task scheduler on BeOS/Zeta that
could run a binary at a specified interval, but not sure something like
that exists for Haiku.
Kind regards,
Mark Hellegers
