Subject: [haiku] Haiku disc doesn't boot anymore

I'm experiencing something very strange... I've installed Haiku nightly
builds from a CD over 100 times, but the live CDs aren't working anymore.

The problem is when I boot from a Haiku CD I can see the Haiku logo but
none of the boot icons light up. Not even the "atom" icon lights up.

This is very very strange because I **have Haiku installed** on my
computer right now. I have hrev47002 installed and it works perfectly.
But if I burn hrev47002 to a disc and try to boot from the disc... it
doesn't work anymore! :P

* I've tried multiple discs, including verifying the disc after creating
it with a checksum. I don't think the problem is from using a bad disc.

* I've tried enabling all safe mode options. It didn't make a difference
(and it shouldn't, because I know Haiku should boot correctly).

I'm stumped! Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? I don't
THINK I've changed anything in my computer recently...

Have you checked to see if your CD drive is bad? Can you boot Ubuntu or other OS via CD/DVD? If so, then that would seem to rule out a bad optical drive. Try using a previous Haiku disk you installed from successfully. If it no longer works, then something in your system is affecting the drive bootup.
