Following up from the various Haiku website themes on
//www.freelists.org/archive/haiku/05-2010 ...

As Jorge G. Mare aka Koki is claiming copyright on the original works
of art used in his Shijin 3 theme, which is based on Acquia's Marina
theme (GPL), I as an individual believe his claim is legit or at the
very least is reason enough to have a backup theme in place. At this
time the full extent of Jorge G. Mare aka Koki's original works in the
Shijin 3 theme are unknown.

As this is now a legal matter, Haiku, Inc. has every right to step in
to protect itself. A majority of the BOD have agreed on giving
Alexander von Gluck IV admin permissions to create an alternative
theme.

As you may recall, Alex aka kallisit5 is mentoring IPv6, has
contributed to the website as a wiki-editor, and has provided some
patches for the PPC port. In addition, Alexander von Gluck IV has
emailed the board and provided this ownership agreement:

I Alexander von Gluck IV do solemnly swear that all work created for the
HaikuLove Drupal theme is mine to provide to Haiku Inc.

This Drupal theme is based on the GPL'e Arthemia theme. All original
images and code created by myself is hereby turned over to Haiku Inc. for
unlimited use.

Signed,
 Alexander von Gluck IV

To be clear: Haiku, Inc. is taking steps necessary to ensure its protection.
