Hi,
Does the Inc. have a recent copy of your next contract proposal? It should
include your contract terms (including compensation), what you plan to
accomplish, payment information, and your timelines.
Here the proposal details. Not much new compared to the previous, the terms
ideally would be similar :
* 12,5€/h
* 240 + 120 hours
The areas where development will go are the same, what the users requested
me is to just continue.
* Continue improving streaming
- General bugfixing.
- Fix the rtsp_streamer lib and add sniffing in the API for descriptors
such as the sdp format.
- See what to do to improve MediaPlayer.
* Plain-Text Subtitles Support
I have already explored the general way how this should happen. Initially
we would support plain text subtitles then add support to more complex
representations. Axel was suggesting to use our styled text format in place
of ASS/SSA, that will add another level of abstraction that should be taken
into account.
There's need to explore how rendering is supposed to happen, maybe using
rendering plugins, in future we should support bitmap subtitles also
allowing to render internally the plain text/styled text ones.
* BMediaClient and UltraDV
I think I've already explained what this API is for and what would be the
final aim. I propose to spend 2 or 3 weeks of this contract working on
UltraDV and other changes/fixes that might be needed to have it run
correctly on Haiku.
Additionally there would be work to do on MediaPlayer, but I can't preview
how difficult could be to do this also considering I'm not the original
developer and there's a complex framework behind to be taken into account.
Merging the MediaPlayer plugin API, and adding plugins to support playlists
and subtitles would be my primary aim at this point of development.
