Hi all,
I was told that GSoC organizations sponsor travel tickets for students to
attend open-source conferences, and Haiku is ready to do too. I came across
*FOSDEM*, which happens at Brussels, and is set to happen during *Feb 3-4
2018*. I spoke to other GSoCers, and they're equally interested in
attending FOSDEM.
Haiku usually has a booth in FOSDEM, so we could meet few Haiku developer
s,
attend few
talks, and network
. The event as a whole would be a good exposure to the students.
I also came across DevConf (https://devconf.cz/) which happens in the same
week
(Does Haiku participate in DevConf too?).
The flight costs from* India to Brussels* come around $650 (round trip).
Can you please let us know how much Haiku Inc. could sponsor
GSoC (completed and non-completed students)
? Depending upon that, we can start planning for the event. (VISA,
accommodation and other stuff.)
