While looking at the tickets listed on trac, #1102 ( http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/1102) caught my attention. With all the talk of an alpha release, I think a project to get the Haiku kernel running as a user mode process on Linux should take precedence. It would allow any eventual alpha to be much better tested and would also be a great aid to debugging going forward. In addition it would allow Linux users to test, debug and develop programs for Haiku without having to install to a partition, burn a livecd or mess about with a virtual machine. What do you think?
