Hey everyone,
I have been looking at ways to improve the installer and, overall, the
installation process for quite a bit. Although I've been quite busy lately, I
have been following some of the discussions on here.
I was wondering what everyone thinks of the fact that, according to the current
flow of the installation process, exiting the installer either within the EULA
window or within the partition manager (which sends an exit message) results in
a reboot. I do believe that this is an intended feature, should one take the
confirmation window into consideration, but I was wondering if anybody else
feels like this sort of behavior is a bit peculiar. What if the end user just
changes their mind and decides that they'd be more keen on testing the system
first, before going through drastic changes?
I'm not sure if there's some sort of stability-related history over here that I
may not be aware of, but I really do think that it'd make more sense for the
installer to bring FirstBootPrompt again, rather than forcing the user to
reboot their machine. I would assume that most people choose to reboot, in
order to open up FirstBootPrompt again anyways.
What do you all think?
(P.S. Could I give it a shot and attempt to work on this?)
With regards,
Panos
