There are already many GCC4 apps (e.g. Java, > QupZilla, WebPositive) that run on a GCC2Hybrid system just fine, and > "clasqm" has gotten Homeworld (a 3D SDL game) working on GCC2Hybrid using > GCC4 as the compiler. There are several other SDL games built using GCC4 available either as packages or standalone downloads. The ones done by Michael Oliveira are generally known for eing "quick and dirty" ports however. Not only they have problem using the correct libraries, but they also hardcode various paths (games work only when installed in /boot/common, for example). It is easier to write haikuporter recipes for these games and include the proper changes so they work correctly on Haiku than trying to salvage things from Michael's work. A lot of these games already have a recipe, but if you see some that are missing, we can have a look and fix that. -- Adrien.
