Good morning,
The new forum system at discuss.haiku-os.org is working well. 29 user accounts
have been successfully activated in ~ 24 hours.
While the forums have been moved over, the blog posts + comments have not yet
been.
It appears that native blogs in hugo require making commits directly to the
blog repo (which the site then regenerates from) This process seems a little
rough.
I have an alternative idea. The blogs have traditionally been used to showcase
developer and user articles and updates on the site. I purpose the following:
* Move the blog posts into their own category on discuss.haiku-os.org
* Blog articles are featured on the site (rss feed per category:
https://discuss.haiku-os.org/c/off-topic.rss)
* Lock down posting to the blog category to those with "blogger" permission
* We could do the same for a news section.
Thoughts?
This would mean our site would be "easy static + hugo" with dynamic content
loaded from discuss.haiku-os.org
