I think it would be  better for you to redefine your question &
target, to make it clear.
are you sure that the SVN revision of the system is what you are after?

As for Linux, not "uname" nor "lsb_release" are any good to get
details for the OS version, since the first will tell you mostly about
the kernel and related info while the second simply wont even exist in
non LSB compliant Linux distributions.

About Haiku and lsb_release now ..well its only natural to be missing
from haiku :P
Haiku is an alternative BeOS like OS that shares a little if anything
with Linux , and lsb_release is a command that shows Linux Standard
Base (LSB) related info on lsb compliant systems , which of course
HAIKU isn't since its not Linux or even Linux-based.
