Dear friends,
I come to the point to decide that to solve my issues with other developers
I have to switch completely from what I'm working on. I think I should stop
pushing for new concepts, APIs and features in this project. Planning my
time for the next years I came to the point that my long-term goals are not
compatible with Haiku. I think I'd be much more collaborative if I didn't
try to advance the OS and only work on existing stuff.
If until now someone considered me the Media Kit guy, from today I
completely resign. Do not consider me responsible in any way, for this part
of the OS, either having me help newcomers or fix bugs. You are on your own
from this day.
I hope someone can take this someday and I wish the best for the person(s)
that will overcome this empty space. I will also stop completely any
proposal for Haiku improvements (binder and remote objects management,
metadata and attribute layer, text indexing, media2 and so on). I will
bring all those ideas into other projects. From today, I will become more
of a lurker and casual contributor rather than a core member of the project.
If it happens that I recover from all that, I wish I could contribute on
some very different areas. Maybe I will begin to work on the ARM port, or
the m68k one.
That being said, I wish the best for anyone that's going to carry this
operating system in this millennium.
