I played around with compiling 7zip on Haiku this weekend and it works using the BeOS makefile. This morning I looked at the source code for expander to see if I could figure out how to add .7z format to it. Seems it might be as easy as adding one line of code? I haven't looked to see if/how it could be added into zip-o-matic. http://tools.assembla.com/BePorts/wiki/app-arch/7zip http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/2014 I don't know if this is something everyone would like to have added to haiku or not, but I'll update the HaikuPorts status page for it as I investigate further. It looks like of the binaries that are created that we would only need 7za to be copied into /boot/beos/bin, or 7zr which only handles the new compression methods. My questions here are, show we add 7z to Haiku or just keep it something that can be added later, and is it possible to select which compression tool(s) to use with zip-o-matic? If it is rolled in then it would need a 7z icon, if anyone is up to making/modifying one for it ;) -scottmc
