Nah, that's way too complicated. It seems to be motivated by the fact
that you can resize in any direction, but the user already assumes he
can move the mouse any way he likes. The pointer is just a symbol for
the function. So the already existing B_RESIZE_NORTH_SOUTH_EAST_WEST
cursor is already a perfect match.
