   The ability to obtain parent of a file, while problematic when dealing
   with hard links, is necessary to get attribute_overlay working with
nfs4.


Fixing the overlay implementation would be the better option IMO.
My impression is that two good developers (first Michael and now Pawel) had apparently no better idea how to implement the "feature". Do you have any suggestion?
