Irker runs a commit hook directly on our git server, so it gets this
information implicitly as part of the commit. The same doesn't apply to
third party projects like cgit et al. which are just a view on the
repository after the fact. That irker can get it easily is pretty much
irrelevant, that doesn't make it any easier to modify large, complex 3rd
party tools that really aren't designed with our usage of tags in mind
(doubly so since almost no other projects using git use tags in such a
way).
