On our IBM ThinkPad X41, I've removed the hard disk since it crashed, and
have been booting Haiku off a USB stick.
After booting, I try putting in any DVD--ones that work fine on other
computers and show no scratches--and after a few seconds, Haiku completely
freezes. I can eject the DVD by pressing the button on the drive itself,
but that doesn't unfreeze it.
If I put the disc in before bootup, it stalls forever on the middle disk
icon while booting Haiku.
The computer can boot off the DVD drive itself, so I know the drive works
well enough.
