Ok, thanks for checking. If you're up for it, you could try to dd a raw
image to a "bad" USB stick to see if that helps. Although not advertised,
most (all?) mirrors have this image as well, you just manually have to
edit the URL to download it, e.g.
http://mirror.rit.edu/haiku/releases/r1alpha4.1/haiku-
r1alpha4.1-image.tar.xz
