#7967: Update menu modifier images to more accurately reflect the corresponding key that appears on the keyboard ------------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: jscipione | Owner: stippi Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: User Interface | Version: R1/Development Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ------------------------------+---------------------------- Comment (by pulkomandy): jscipione: if you switch the shortcuts to "linux/windows" mode in Keymap, then command/option wil be reversed. If they were labelled 'alt' and 'control', then you'd have to press 'alt' for the menus labelled 'ctrl', and 'ctrl' for the menus labelled 'alt'... How easy is that ? :) for the record, old version of BeOS (R3, maybe R4) did show the clover symbol. Anyway, the idea is you can't really guess what's written on the physical key from the keycode. Some people even swap ctrl with caps lock :). There seem to be some mixup between the menus labels and the keymap preflet, combined with some keyswapping on Apple's side to make their computers useable with pc keyboards. This gets quite messy in the end :) -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/7967#comment:15> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
