 The attribute would normally get set the same way as it does on any other
 untyped filesystem object, namely via mime sniffing rules. As such, the
 risk of them getting "out-of-sync" is no different/greater than for any
 other type, so this line of reasoning really doesn't make sense.

 That would completely break most of the benefits of BFS queries, as it'd
 reduce Find to having to crawl the whole filesystem, doing a stat() on
 each file. This would be hideously inefficient.
