#6628: Save position-on-quit and allow jumping to it ----------------------------------------+----------------------------------- Reporter: humdinger | Owner: stippi Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Applications/MediaPlayer | Version: R1/Development Keywords: | Blocked By: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All Blocking: | ----------------------------------------+----------------------------------- This is r38627. MediaPlayer could save the playback position as attribute to a file when playback is quit (either when MediaPlayer is quit or the file is replaced by another e.g. via drag&drop or when skipped by in a playlist). This marker is shown in MediaPlayer's progress bar, e.g. as a coloured dot maybe with a tooltip "Last position".[[BR]] There could be a menu item added to jump to that position.[[BR]] Maybe it's enough, however, to make that dot slightly magnetic to easily scrub to it by dragging the progress-slider with the mouse. Note, this changes nothing of the current behavior: Launching MediaPlayer will still continue playing the last file from the position it left off. Launching a file (e.g. by double-click) will still start from the beginning; the user has to manually jump to the last-position-dot. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/6628> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
