The very friendly contact person at Epson pointed me to ESC/P-R library
[http://avasys.jp/eng/linux_driver/download/lsb/epson-inkjet/escpr/] and
GutenPrint [http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/] which also supports Epson
printers.

There are now two options:[[BR]]
1) Use ESC/P-R to create a Haiku printer driver[[BR]]
2) Port CUPS and GutenPrint to support a bunch of different printers
