Comment(by mmlr):

 This is almost certainly an interrupt issue. Someone may eat the USB
 interrupts (sharing problem) or they aren't correctly configured (i.e. the
 advertised interrupt lines aren't actually correct). If it is, there's
 nothing that could be done from the USB stack side of things.
